Time left for the first
match at "Dinamo"
On a gray rainy Sunday morning over a hundred persons participated in the first charity race to support lonely veterans of the Great Patriotic War – “The Dynamo Mile”. The initiators and organizers of the event were CJSC “MC “Dynamo, which is implementing VTB Arena park project, the charity fund supporting old and disabled people “The Joy of Old Age”, companies 3sport and Concept.
The pre-start warm-up for the race participants was conducted by an Honored Coach of Russia, a member of the organization uniting the veterans of war, labor and sports MGO VFSO “Dynamo” (Moscow City Organization All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Society “Dynamo”) Leonid Belyaev and one of his trainees, the winner of the Moscow Championship, 14-year-old Artem Vorontsov. Raisa Sushkova, Master of Sports in Athletics, Honored Veteran of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Reserve Police Colonel, addressed the runners with a speech and emphasized the importance of such events both for veterans and for the younger generation. Andrei Peregoudov, VTB Bank Senior Vice President, VTB Arena park Project Manager, in his turn stated, “This charity sports event called “The Dynamo Mile” is held for the first time, but may, and most probably will, become a tradition. Despite the rainy weather the event has been attended by dozens of people who are not indifferent to the goals and tasks set by the race organizers – to draw the public attention and to support lonely veterans who more than 70 years ago won the hardest war! It is here in the Petrovsky Park, at the Dynamo Stadium, that exactly 75 years ago the Special Separate Motor Rifle Brigade units started to form. Their core was made up by the Dynamo sportsmen, so for many the letter “Д” also symbolizes the Great Victory. I am proud that VTB Arena park as a brand that represents sport and healthy lifestyle has become a flagship in this social initiative – the charity race “The Dynamo Mile”. And I am glad that today we have been joined by Dynamo veterans, who greeted the participants of the race and even took part in it!”
The first to cross the finishing line of the 1609-meter distance in 4 minutes 28 seconds was Egor Oshkin, who promised to participate in similar competitions in future. Vasily Permitin and Marat Aksyanov finished close seconds. In girls’ competitions the three prize winners were Maria Milevskaya, Olesya Davidenko and Ekaterina Nosova. They were closely followed by famous actresses Alena Khmelnitskaya and Elena Valyushkina.
All the funds received from the race participants at registration will be spent for one of the programs of the fund “The Joy of Old Age” as part of the national project “Nobody is Forgotten!” dedicated to the celebration of the Victory Day.
